This commissioned gift is one of fun and childhood memory.
The client requested a build of the home their son grew up in, and now that both parent and child have moved on to different places in their adult lives, this brick model gets to bring a fun memory of that unique place.
After reviewing photos of the home, the window element used determined the size of the model, which was then worked outwards from so that the home could be captured in close, proportional detail. The home includes a walk-out lower level, and getting a chance to solve the topography with bricks added for a fun challenge, yet the slatted and varied wood members running along the exterior of the home is where the real fun began. Te model needed to look solid, but seeing the impled reveals between the exterior wood members (an especially in the deck) lead to a great final model!
