Once you submit the form below, I’ll follow up by email to discuss your build description, reference photos, timeline, and a cost estimate.
A nonrefundable retainer of ~50% is required before design begins. Estimates may flex slightly — part sourcing can fluctuate.
As the design develops, we may clarify preferences or explore what’s possible. Once the model reaches a substantial stage, I’ll share a progress update for your review. Significant changes at this point may affect the timeline or estimate — but we’ll make it work.
After approval, the project moves into finalization and instruction creation. I’ll verify all structural integrity and confirm any external adjustments if needed.
At that stage, the final exact total will be confirmed. The remaining balance is due prior to shipping.
Finally — enjoy your custom build!
7 weeks in advance is ideal for most commissions!
This allows for plenty of time for the build to reach you, along with built in time for potential short-comings. Please reach out as early as possible!
Prior to giving an estimate, I factor in a few things:
- Time it takes for me to design the model
- Time it takes to generate instructions based on its complexity
- Time and allocation of parts
- Time it takes for packing, and verifying all parts are present
Shipping is not included within the estimate. The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs.
Having an idea helps!
This is something I will work with you on directly, throughout the project until the end. I will give an initial price range on what the model could cost, and can provide a more detailed cost breakdown as the project progresses if desired.
Yes, if the project requires them!
Larger models for installation may not require them.
For one-of-one custom kits, all instructions will be accessible via a QR Code.
Yes, it is cheaper.
However, I will still need to go through a full physical design process prior to generating the instructions. This ensures that the model is sound for your enjoyment!
Multiple units is absolutely doable!
The design is there, why not get multiple copies for that upcoming event?
Large quantities of multiple kits will require a longer lead time since there are more materials to pack and verify.
A small packing-per-unit fee will be provided in the initial estimate.
It is not a problem at all! Throughout the design phase we will discuss work that has been done via email, phone, or video call. Details can be elaborated on at anytime.
Afterall, one of the most fun parts of working on any project is seeing the build evolve!
