Created as a gift, and accompanied by custom instructions with all of the required parts, Peony Sprout made a fantastic for the recipient gardener!
Her favorite flower is the Peony, and she enjoys the magical whimsy of various wizarding worlds. Inspired by the screaming and ugly Mandrakes, with the floral elegance a Peony brings to the table, this creature was created as a guardian of the garden to fend off pesky bugs, while keeping a watchful eye towards incoming danger and moving the floral heard away in case!
The project has two parts, the bulb character and the peony blossom. Each requires their own, unique approach to organic shaping. To capture the flowy and slightly wrinkled pedals of the peon, I utilized some modified plate with a clam/shell flare (Part ID: 18970), and some smaller splat projectile elements (Part ID: 80677). Each of these help to show a plethora of petals inside the blossom and different scales and heights.
As for the character's face, I imagined him as a smaller figure with bulbous proportions, lumpy as burls on a tree are. Utilizing a frog for a nose like an old, knobby branch with croissants for eyebrows allowing his eyes to appear more sunken in the rounded face, and of course giving him a bright small thanks to the arc of the sausage!
