BUILD LORE

Engineers, or Huragok, are mysterious, floating biomechanical beings, crafted by the ancient Forerunners as living instruments of precision and intellect. Entirely nonviolent and brilliantly intelligent, they exist to repair, maintain, and interface with even the most advanced technology—essentially walking (or floating) supercomputers with a soul.

Though inherently peaceful, their talents made them targets of exploitation by the Covenant, who enslaved them, sometimes with explosive failsafes strapped to their bodies to ensure compliance. Often unseen but always crucial, Engineers silently operate the inner workings of Covenant facilities, keeping ships, systems, and machinery alive.

In one such instance, as a UNSC invasion looms, a Huragok quietly briefs an Elite Ultra on the facility’s strategic value before gliding away into the shadows—an unsung guardian of knowledge seeking refuge from the chaos of battle on the beaches above.

BEHIND THE BUILD

The second chamber I created for the Halo Silent Bricktographer collab was a smaller floating bridge. It is not a space that is seen within the level, yet is intended to image what a small shaft space could be like with the other large shaft that does appear in the level. The same can be said with the Huragok, or Engineer, where these creatures can float within the taller space. This build of the creature looks at creating as the gooey jellyfish it is without any armor as it typically appears in Halo: ODST.

The iconic blue and purple glow that so many Halo levels showcase was important when working on this collab. This build uses simple top-down blue lighting primarily, some accent purple spotlights along the back, wall and then glow's through the door of a cooler shade of blue.
