In the Medinat, many walks of life and cultures from the region blend together. Some are interested in purchasing furniture at the local store, others are enjoying a nice walk, while some just want to relax or feed the birds.
Created for the Medinat Al Musawrah Collab at BrickFair Virginia 2025, these three buildings blend a variety of architectural style inspired by that of the Middle East. The central building has a colorfully decorated furniture store on the ground level, beneath the yellow sign in Dari that says "Furniture." Vibrant colors in the storefront underneath the apartments above attracts many customers, including a few monks (albeit they're more interested in sitting then lugging around pieces of furniture in their migrant lives).
The challenge with the central building was trying to blend in sand purple in the limited pallet of parts available. Most of the elements in that color exist in very specific sci-fi shapes (from the 2001 theme "Life on Mars"), with the challenge being hiding most of their greebles to use as architectural detailing. The sand purple that is seen beneath each of the apartment bay windows uses the portal (element ID: 30528) on its side and embedded back into the wall so that only the line greebles on the element can be seen from the outside of the building.
