Meganium (#154) is the third evolution of Chikorite found in the Johto Region, and until recently, could not Mega-Evolve.
Meganium's flower grows the length of it's neck along with it's power. The calming and soothing scent given off from it's flower becomes much more potent, and even blunts the senses of it's foes in battle.
Mega Meganium was built as part of the online build collab to recreate Mega-Pokémon in LEGO hosted by Daniel Brickson.
The challenge for recreating Meganium came with the color selection of yellow-ish green, which does not appear in as many elements as I thought it would prior to taking on this build. As the process wnet on it became evident that the main parts are curved slopes and plates, all SNOT assembiles must be hidden internally. The inside of this build has studs going in every direction!
The flower along the neck also created a fun challenge. Originally I chose this Pokémon for the fun use of plant parts I could used within the neck. After a few trials I realized those elements were not capturing the shape as closely to the reference as I hope, and then switched to brick-built petals from non-plant elements. The use of frogs at the end of each petal is not as accurate to the actual Pokémon, but does giveway for fun part usage. The shape of the frog element (Part #x223) does give the appearance of dropping petals at the end, helping them appear as though they are overlapping.
