BUILD LORE

Built for RebelLUG's 2024 Telephone Build Game, "the Paste Liner" came out after being given a prompt to build from. The game consisted of 9 members, and each would describe a build they had seen, and then build a prompt they were given. Starting with the prompt below, I created the first build in the series and shared a photograph with the next individual to describe. The individual describing this build then shared it with another builder to recreate. By having one person describe and build at different ends of the order, members were able to see different creations go through the process.

The prompt given to me by @Lego_monkey (INSTAGRAM LINK) was:

"Sci-fi spaceship resembling a giant toothbrush!"

This is nothing like I had built before, yet that is what really brought the fun challenge to this project. Capturing the look of a toothbrush that can, hopefully, be recognizable in it's simplicity, but the fun of adding additional spaceship style greebles created for a nice challenge. The build was then photographed and passed on to the next person in line to describe, where that description was then passed to a different individual to be built again.

BEHIND THE BUILD

To capture something iconic, I thought it best to use bright and simple colors for the toothbrush. Red handle and frame with white candle sticks as bristles pop against the other shades used, and accents of azure and bright green add to it as many toothbrushes have larger nylon bristles for plaque removal. The spearmint flavored toothpaste tube uses shades of sand green and bright light blue to give the impression of a "fresh minty taste." The tube then feeds down into some space ship blaster greebles to launch paste and plaque and enemies!

To bring it back to a space ship style, the translucent dark pink 6x5 hexagonal flag elements (Part ID 17979) for rear stabilization wings help add to that. The pilot sits front and center within the bristle cluster, where his chrome blue helmet stands out against the background of space, and not to mention is similar to a glob of toothpaste as well!
