Down, down, down the party goes. Following the twisted stair deeper into the dungeon.
What lies behind each door? They do not know...
As if they just appeared, swarms of orcs appear in the stair! They must have come through those mysterious doors, or even scaled the walls. As ugly as they are, they probably can climb just like goblins.
Now, more than ever, the party must watch their step. Doing battle with orcs is one thing, but trying not to fall all the way down to the bottom is quite another.
Built as part of "The Spooky Dungeon of Bad Times and Pain and Monsters" collab, this is triple tall module that connects each of the levels together in their style similar to many classic styled dungeon crawler games.
To create this spiral stair case, the main points of attchment for the steps would be the floor and ceiling of the chamber so the stair appears as if it is floating or suspended within the space. A few attachment points connect stairs to one of the back walls, but very few. Each step has a snot brick pointing a stud downwards to keep the steps beneath it rotated and pushed into its palce. This allows for the steps to appear uniform around the long technic axle running from floor to ceiling within the space.
Lighting effects are done utilizngrickStuff's flicker effects lights, and with the lighting source not looking too harshly into the build for photographing the model, patches of shadow where the torches are is illuminated much more than it is other times. To capture a better sense of motion beyond the stained glass window of the mermaid, a mirror panel is inserted a few studs back. This allowed for being viewed form angl vs the other, the stained glass' own reflection in the mirror beyond looked like it was at a different point than the front glass creating a bit of an optical illusion.
This was a fun build to take on, and fun collab to be a part of!
